If using AC power, your brightness setting is set to its highest level by default. If using battery power, your brightness settings is set to approximately mid-level by default. The higher the brightness level, the more power the Tablet PC will consume and the faster your batteries will discharge.

Check the Status Indicator Panel to determine the presence and condition of the battery. See “Status Indicator Panel” on page 16. Use a Power adapter until the battery is charged. The AC or auto/airline adapter is not plugged in properly. Verify that your adapter is connected correctly. See “Power Sources” on page 35.

Possible Cause Possible Solutions The power savings features may be disabled. Check the power management and/or setup utility settings in the Power Savings menu and adjust according to your operating needs. The brightness is turned all the way up. Turn down the brightness adjustment. The higher the brightness the more power your display uses.
