Allow domains to connect to a virtual host
New feature in Flash Media Streaming Server and Flash Media Interactive Server; requires Flash
Player 6 or later.
You can specify a list of domains that are allowed to connect to a particular virtual host. By
default, connections are allowed from all domains. Set the V HOST.A LL O W parameter in the
fm s.iniletoacomma-delimitedlistofhostnames,domainnames,andfullorpartialIP
addresses you wish to allow access to the virtual host.
Limit access to Flash Media Administration Server
New feature in Flash Media Streaming Server and Flash Media Interactive Server; requires Flash
Player 6 or later.
Bydefault,aclientcanconnecttoFlashMediaAdministrationServerfromanydomainorIP
address, which can be a security risk. You can change this by editing the AdminServer
parameter in the Server.xml le. Simply add a comma-delimited list of host names, domain
names,andfullorpartialIPaddressesyouwanttoallow.edefaultvalueis“all.”
Administration API via HTTP
Feature available in Flash Media Streaming Server and Flash Media Interactive Server; requires
Flash Player 6 or later.

Most users leverage this feature to write custom monitoring applications. You can monitor the
capacity of the server including the number of connections, bandwidth used, number of streams
in cache, and even restart the server.
