TextInput.change
Availability
Flash Player 6 (6.0.79.0).
Edition
Flash MX 2004.
Usage
Usage 1:
var listenerObject:Object = new Object();
listenerObject.change = function(eventObject:Object) {
//...
};
textInputInstance.addEventListener("change", listenerObject)
Usage 2:
on (change){
//...
}
Description
Event; notifies listeners that text has changed. This event is broadcast after the text has
changed. This event cannot be used to prevent certain characters from being added to the
component’s text field; for that purpose, use
TextInput.restrict. This event is triggered
only by user input, not by programmatic change.
The first usage example uses an
on() handler and must be attached directly to a TextInput
instance. The keyword
this, used inside an on() handler attached to a component, refers to
the component instance. For example, the following code, attached to the instance
myTextInput, sends “_level0.myTextInput” to the Output panel:
on (change){
trace(this);
}
