Mackie Control Universal Changing Modes MCU Pro has three different modes of operation: Connecting with MIDI • Connect the MCU Pro to the MIDI interface via two MIDI cables (IN and OUT). Use the MIDI 2 (MAIN) MIDI connections on the MCU Pro. • Connect the third-party MIDI interface to the computer as described by the manufacturer (see “Hookup 2: MIDI” on page 6). 1. Mackie Control (use with most DAWs. See Appendix C on page 12). 2. Logic Control (use with Apple Logic). 3.
Owner’s Manual VESA / Omnimount Mounting The MCU Pro and MCU XT Pro have holes in the bottom panel for mounting to a standard VESA wall mount or floating arm mount, using 75 mm or 100 mm mounting patterns. These holes accept M4 (4 mm) screws. The length of the screw will vary depending on the thickness of the mounting plate. The screw length is calculated by determining the thickness of the mounting plate and adding 0.

17. USB PORT 21. USER SWITCH 1 and 2 This is the USB connection between the MCU Pro and the host computer. Use the USB cable provided to connect this port to a USB port on the computer. These are provided for connecting a momentary footswitch to the MCU Pro that may be used to control functions such as Play/Stop, Rec Ready, Drop In/Out, etc. These functions are usually user-configurable in the DAW application.
Mackie Control Universal 10 Appendix A: Key Commands Engaging certain switches on the MCU Pro and MCU XT Pro during power up perform a variety of configuration tasks. See the table below for more information.
Owner’s Manual Appendix B: Fader Alignment A comprehensive fader alignment on the MCU Pro and MCU XT Pro is performed at the factory during quality control testing. Then, each time the unit is powered on, the faders complete a quick up-down test to verify that they are still aligned and working correctly. This should provide years of perfectly calibrated faders. However, on occasion, the faders may need to be realigned.
Mackie Control Universal Appendix C: Software Support The following table is the MCU Pro Compatibility Chart. It shows what DAW works in what MCU Mode, as well as what overlay to use. Links to each DAW and exisiting documents is also added for your convenience.
