B SERIES SP WINDROWER
SP185B SP Windrower
The Challenger SP185B replaces the SP165 windrower. The SP185B shares many proven
features of the machine it replaces, along with these improvements:
Chassis
♦ Welded box beam side frame rails
♦ Heavier walking beam
♦ Wheel drive motors fitted directly to planetary drives, eliminating chain drives, but keeping
hydraulic components protected
♦ Planetary drives have increased torque and radial load characteristics (42:1 final drive ratio
compared to 38:1 on the SP165)
♦ Spring applied parking brake, hydraulic pressure release
♦ Lift arm receivers, for easier adapting to all heads
Hydraulic System
♦ Sauer-Danfoss hydraulic system for more reliability and reduced sound levels
♦ Step up gearbox for tandem pumps - 1.33:1
♦ Electronic control of header speed
Engine and Accessories
♦ 185 hp Cummins Tier II engine (Meets new emissions standards)
♦ Charge air cooler
♦ Electronic fuel injection
Cab
♦ Air ride Grammer seat with an adjustable shock and retractable seat belt
