Ground Speed and Header Control Lever
The Ground Speed and Header Control Lever
utilizes the same ergonomically designed
handle as the Challenger combines. The
lever is designed to support the operator’s
hand in the most comfortable position. The
operation of the lever is very smooth and
easy, as the operation is servo-assisted.
In addition to direction and speed control, the
lever contains three switches, which control
1) Header lift, 2) Reel Height or Swathboard
actuator (depending on how the machine is
equipped), 3) Reel speed and lift on draper
heads, (or swathboard actuator and DWA de-
flector), and three buttons 4) monitor select
function, 5) Header angle decrease and 6)
Header angle increase. The control lever op-
erates the most often-used functions of the
windrower, which makes the operation more
convenient and less fatiguing.
Parking Brake Lever
The parking brake lever is located on the right
side of the operator’s control console. Before
the engine can be started, the parking brake
must be applied, the travel control lever must
be in neutral, and the steering wheel must be
centered and locked. By not allowing the en-
gine to start unless the park brake is set, any
unwanted movement of the machine is
avoided.
Console Switches
A full array of switches are included on the
tractors. Draper header function switches such
as draper shift, draper speed, and reel fore-aft
(Optional on the header) are in place. On the
SP185B, the header disc speed is controlled
by a knob, for easier adjustment.
