Radium 49/61
Requirements/Setting up:
The Radium 49 and Radium 61 are identical, except for the length of the key-
board. However, there are two versions of each codec (Remote driver) for these: a
regular version and an "older model".
This is because older Radium keyboards use different MIDI settings for factory
preset 1 (the preset used by Reason).
So, which codec to choose depends on the model of your Radium keyboard.
Here's what you should do:
1. Connect the Radium via USB or MIDI.
2. Select preset 1 and make sure this isn't changed from the factory
settings.
3. If needed, you can restore all presets to factory settings by holding
down the MIDI/Select button while you turn on the keyboard (note
that this restores all presets, removing any changes you have
made!).
4. Add the keyboard as a "Radium 49" or "Radium 61" and check
whether it works OK.
For a quick check, set master keyboard input to a track for a Mixer 14:2 de-
vice and move fader 1 - this should control the volume fader on channel 1 on
the mixer.
5. If this doesn't work, delete the Radium from the control surfaces list
and add it again, this time as an "Radium 49 (older model)" or "Ra-
dium 61 (older model)".
! The Radium keyboard must be added manually - it cannot be found
by auto-detect.
• The two codecs are identical in regards to the functions and map-
ping.
Below, the factory settings for the faders and knobs in preset 1 are listed. You
can use these lists to check whether your Radium is an "older" or "newer" model.
You can also use the lists to reprogram the knobs manually (if you don't want to
restore all presets to factory defaults):
About the default mapping:
D Note that the Data Entry Fader controls master level on many de-
vices.
D Keyboard shortcut variations are used for devices with many pa-
rameters.
D Mixer 14:2
There are four keyboard shortcut variations, for controlling channels 1-8 or 9-
14, respectively. The faders control channel levels and the knobs control pans
in variations 1-2. In variations 3-4 the faders and knobs control Aux1 Send/
Aux2 Send. The data entry fader always controls the master level and Knob
15 controls the Aux 1 or Aux 2 Return levels in the last two variations.
