STEP 1. PREPARING ALCOVE
• Strip to bare studs if not using a Lyons one-piece wall.
• If installing a Lyons one-piece wall, then bathtub and one-piece wall must be installed onto drywall.
• Bathtub stud pocket should be constructed as shown.
• Do not install bathtub on open oor joists. Suboor must be clean, smooth and level (Fig 1). Sub-oor must be installed
in the stud layout.
• Cut hole in sub oor to accommodate drain.
• The Access panel is located on the bathtub apron to service pump/motor and heater assembly after installation.
Failure to provide access to these areas may result in added removal and re-installation costs in the event service may
be required.
STEP 2. ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
• Install the 110 volt, 20 amp GFCI outlet(s) as shown on previous page in alcove to the stud wall underneath the
bathtub at least 4" above the sub oor. (Fig. 2) One is for the pump/motor and the other is for the inline heater (not
included).
• Both GFCI receptacles in alcove must have a separate 110 volt, 20 amp service from the breaker panel. Do not com-
bine any other electric service with bathtub supply line.
• Service supply line must be connected to a Ground Fault Interrupter at the breaker panel for added protection and to
meet code requirement. Install breaker only after all other electrical connections have been made.
• Your bathtub wiring should be installed by a licensed electrician. All electrical preparations and connections must be
made in strict compliance with local and national electrical codes.
WARNING: If bathtub is not properly wired, there is danger of electrical shock or re.
STEP 3. LEAK TEST WHIRLPOOL
• BATHTUB MUST BE TESTED FOR LEAKS BEFORE FINAL INSTALLATION. ALTHOUGH YOUR UNIT HAS BEEN FACTORY
TESTED, DAMAGE MAY OCCUR DURING SHIPPING OR HANDLING.
• Connect drain piping to drain, waste and overow. Remove front access panel. (Fig. 3)
For best results, if possible, leak test in an area that all jets, ttings and plugs are visible.
• Plug motor and inline heater into GFCI receptacle box. If motor starts, turn it o by depressing the on/o button in the
bathtub.
• Fill bathtub with water, make sure water is at least 1" above intake and jet covers. Run for ten minutes. Inspect all jets,
