WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS: • If the 1200 DPS does not read zero on the display, DO NOT DISPENSE POWDER. The scale must be zeroed before use. If powder is dispensed with a scale that does not read zero, the charge will not be correct and could be dangerous. • Be careful not be get powder between the platform and the scale body. Congratulations on your purchase of the Lyman 1200 DPS (Digital Powder System). This is a precision piece of equipment and should be handled with care. Before using the 1200 DPS Powder Dispenser, please read these instructions fully and become familiar with the key pads and other operating features listed in the diagrams. 2. The 1200 DPS is equipped with an automatic 30-minute warm-up feature. This feature allows the precise electronics time to stabilize. The LCD display will alternate between warm-up and a count down clock. In the warm-up mode, the scale, powder dispenser and calibration features will be blocked, however, the user can still enter settings into the memory as well as recall and edit existing memory. We recommend that the scale be allowed to fully warm-up before use to ensure the highest accuracy level.

Be certain that you have a container under the chute to catch all the powder from the reservoir and powder box. Lift the powder shut-off door to allow the powder to flow out. Suggestions/Tips 1. If exposed to a sudden change in temperature, allow the 1200 DPS 30 minutes to stabilize to the new location before use. 2. The hinged dust cover can be tilted back for ease of use. If lowered into place during use, however, it will prevent any air drafts from affecting the accuracy of the scale. The dust cover can also be slid off the hinges and removed if needed.
