Product Binning and Labeling
Purpose of Product Binning
In the manufacturing of semiconductor products, there are variations in performance around the average values given in the
technical data sheets. For this reason, Lumileds bins the LED components for luminous flux and forward voltage (V
f
). Color
is offered in a single 3-step or 5-step MacAdam ellipse color space centered on the ANSI CCT color bins. For additional

Decoding Product Bin Labeling
LUXEON T emitters are labeled using a four digit alphanumeric CAT code following the format below:
