21.3 WI-FI NOTIFICATIONS AND DISCONNECT POLICY
ACCESS ADVANCED WI-FI SETTINGS:
1. If Wi-Fi is not already on, turn Wi-Fi on as described above.
2. In the Wi-Fi settings screen, touch the Menu button.
3. Touch Advanced.
The following options are available:
Network notification – You can choose whether you receive notifications in the
Status bar when your phone detects an open Wi-Fi network or not.
To turn Wi-Fi notifications ON, tick off this option.
Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep - to conserve mobile data usage, you may want to set
the phone to stay connected to Wi-Fi when the screen goes to Sleep mode.
To change this setting, touch Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep > in the menu that
appears, touch either Always, Only when plugged in or Never (increases mobile
data usage).
MAC address - the Media Access Control (MAC) address of your phone when
connected to a Wi-Fi network.
IP address - the Internet Protocol (IP) address assigned to your phone by the Wi-Fi
network you are connected to (unless you used the IP settings to assign it a static IP
address).
