RESTORE DATA ASSOCIATED WITH A GOOGLE ACCOUNT ON A NEW OR A FACTORY-
RESET PHONE
If you checked the Back up my data option as described above, all the data associated with your
Google Account can be restored if you, for example, factory-reset your phone or switch to a new
one.
Some third-party apps also make use of the backup service, so if you reinstall them, their
settings and data are restored.
1. During the setup process, sign in with the Google Account that you used to back up
your data.
2. On the Back up and restore screen (see the image to the right) during the setup, you
have the option to restore your data – tick off Restore from my Google Account to
this phone. Your previously backed up data will be restored to your phone
automatically.
NOTE: You can only restore your previously backed-up data when you are setting up your phone for the first time.
