ENABLE OR DISABLE MESSAGE NOTIFICATIONS
You can choose whether a notification is displayed in the Status bar whenever you receive a new message or not. You can also change
the ringtone of the message notifications and set the phone to vibrate when a new message arrives.
1. On a Home or All Apps screen, touch the Messaging icon .
2. Touch the Menu button.
3. Touch Settings, and scroll down to Notifications.
 If you want to receive a notification in the Status bar when a new message
arrives, check the box next to Notifications (default). If you don’t, uncheck it.
 To change the sound of your message notifications, touch Choose ringtone >
select a ringtone on the list, and touch OK.
 To set the phone to vibrate, touch Vibrate, and select the desired option on the
list.
