SEND A NEW TEXT MESSAGE (SMS)
1. On a Home or All Apps screen, touch the Messaging icon .
2. If Messaging does not open in the main view, touch in the top left corner until
you return to the main view.
3. Touch the New message icon in the bottom left corner.
4. In the To field, start typing the name or the phone number of the person you want to
send the message to.
5. If the person is added to your contacts on your phone, a list of matching contacts
will appear below the To field as you type – touch the contact in the list to select it.
6. Use the onscreen keyboard to type your message.
7. When you are finished, touch the Send icon .
TIP: When you are viewing a contact’s details in the People app or in the log in the Phone app , you can quickly send a message to the
contact – just touch the messaging icon beside the contact’s details.
