The bed frame and its components, including the mattress, bed rails, head and foot board, bedding, and any accessories added to the bed, can all affect the risk of entrapment. Thorough patient assessment and monitoring are necessary to reduce the risk of entrapment, including establishing whether the use of a bed rail is in the best interest of the patient.

Perform these checks at least once a year and between patient placements. WARNING: Do not try to modify the Bariatric bed in any way. Unauthorized modification could change the structure of the bed, void the warranty, and create a hazardous condition which could result in serious personal injury.
CHECK HI/LO DRIVE SHAFT FOR PROPER FUNCTIONALITY 1. Ensure the center spring button functions properly and locks both sections. 2. Inspect the connections at both head and foot ends for any wear or bends. 3. Inspect the entire length of the hi/lo drive shaft for any bends or stress damage. CHECK CASTERS FOR PROPER OPERATION 1.
