2 Introduction 2.1 Description 2.2 Technical Data The blackbody calibration source features a unique uniformly heated spherical cavity with a near ideal emissivity of 0.999 or better. The M300 will deliver any temperature between 200 °C and 1150 °C. A convenient microprocessor based, self-tuning digital PID controller holds the selected temperature to within 1 °C, assuring high accuracy calibration of infrared thermometers, thermal imaging equipment, etc.

3 Installation and Operation 3.1 Installation Install the blackbody emitter in the desired location that preferably has no moving air near the emitter aperture. The M300 has been factory wired to operate from your standard 208/220 or 240VAC 20 ampere supply line as per your order. 3.2 Operation 3.2.1 Starting Up 1. Allow the M300 to warm-up to room temperature for at least two hours after unpacking and prior to applying power to remove any condensation. 2.

4 Maintenance 4.1 Cavity Life The life expectancy of the cavity depends on the time and temperature of operation. The higher the temperature, the shorter the life span. At temperatures near the upper end of the range, the life expectancy is shortened by approximately 50%. We recommend an occasional visual check be made to insure maximum system integrity.
