The Advanced IKE/IPSec Setup screen presents information about your IKE and 
IPSec peers, policies and proposals. Each section of this screen includes a Create 
link to screens for establishing new IKE and IPSec definitions. On this 
Advanced IKE/IPSec Setup screen, the following types of information and links 
are provided:
• IKE Peers: Lists the IKE Peers that have been defined. IKE peers are 
those devices known to your router as capable of participating in IKE 
connections. Click on the Create link to define new IKE Peers.
• IKE Proposals: Lists the IKE Proposals that have been defined. IKE 
IPSec Proposals specify how packets will be encrypted/authenticated 
for the final SA. Then IKE IPSec Policies specify which packets will 
be encrypted/authenticated for the final SA. Click on the Create link 
to define new IKE Proposals.
• IKE IPSec Proposals: Lists the IPSec proposals that have been 
defined. Click on the Create link to define new IPSec proposals.
• IKE IPSec Policies: Lists the IPSec policies that have been defined. 
IPSec policies are criteria for packets that IPSec will recognize, and 
actions that IPSec will take upon such recognition. Click on the 
Create link to define new IPSec policies.
