(CAUTION: Don't overtighten the bolt that holds the transducer to the bracket. Overtightening the boltmay result in a distorted bracket which will allow the transducer to "kick-up" at high speed.
If youfind noiseinterference from an electrical instrument, trolling motor, pump, or radio, tryto isolatetheproblem.Youcanusually reroutethe sonar unit's power cable and transducer cable away from the wiring that is causing the interference. VHF radio antennacables radiate noise when transmitting, so becertain to keep thesonar's wiresawayfromit. You may need to routethe sonar unit'spower cable directlytothe batteryto isolate it from otherwiringon the boat.
TRANSDUCER LOCATION (HIGH SPEED) TRANSDUCER LOCATION (TROLLING SPEED) 2. Electrical noise fromthe boat'smotorcaninterfere with the sonar. This causes the sonar to automatically increase its Discrimination or noise rejection feature. Thiscancausetheunitto eliminate weakersignals such as fish or even structure fromthe display. Tryusingresistorsparkplugs or routing the sonar unit's power and transducercables away from other electrical wiring on the boat. No fish arches when the Fish ID feature is off: 1.
terminals or wiring on the terminals are corroded, or the battery needs charging. Unit freezes, locks up,or operates erratically: 1. Electrical noisefromthe boat's motor, trolling motor, or an accessory maybe interfering withthe sonar unit. Rerouting the powerandtransducer cables away fromother electrical wiring on the boat may help. Routethe sonar unit's power cable directlyto the batteryinstead of through a fuse block or ignitionswitch 2. Inspect the transducer cablefor breaks, cuts, or pinched wires.
