Using the Main Menu
• If you enable the buzzer, select the type of
events you want to trigger the DVR from
sending out an event:
• HDD Loss : System beeps when the
hard drive error occurs
• HDD Space : System beeps when the
har
d drive space is low
• Video Loss: System beeps when the
sys
tem does not detect video from a
camera
Adjusting Post recording Duration:
1 In
the Post Record drop-down menu,
select ON.
2 In
the Post Recording drop-down menu,
select the duration of the post recording
(30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5
minutes).

Post recording is the time the DVR
c
ontinues to record after an event has
occurred. For example, if the system
detects a motion event, it will continue to
record, and mark the video as an alarm
event, 1 minute after the event has
occurred.
To enable Motion Detection
notifications:
1 Beside MD Alarm, s
elect the check box to
enable a motion detection alarm.
2 Se
lect the Email check box to receive
email notifications when the system
detects motion.
NOTE: Email
notification setup is
required.
• Select the F
ull Screen check box so that
the system goes into full screen mode
when motion is detected.
Setting up Email Notification
The system can send email notifications
when it detects motion, or when an
alarm parameter triggers. The 16
channel model sends email
notifications if an alarm block device
triggers (i.e. motion sensor detects
movement).
To set up email notification:
1 Click the Email Setup but
ton.
2 F
rom the drop-down menu, select from:
• Ena
ble: Uses custom email server
settings.
• Disable: Disables email notification.
• Default: Uses the Lorex email server to
send out alarm notifications. This is the
recommended selection.
If you select "Enable", and want to use
y
our own email server, configure the
following:
• SS
L: Select ON/OFF to enable/disable
Secure Socket Layer protocol
• SMTP Port: Enter your SMTP address
• SMTP Server: Enter your SMTP Server
• Sender: Enter the sender email address.
This can be any address of your choice
• Password: Enter your email server’s
password
• Receiver: Enter the recipient’s email
address
• Interval: Enter the interval the DVR waits
before sending a new email notification. 
Select this checkbox to enable Motion
Detection alarms.
