SystemConfiguration‐>PingWatchdog
Thismenuallowstoconfiguresystemtorebootonkernelpanic,whenanIPaddressdoesnot
respond,orincasethesystemhaslockedup.Softwarewatchdogtimerisusedtoprovidethe
lastoption,soinveryrarecases(causedbyhardwaremalfunction)itcanlockupbyitself.There
isahardwarewatchdogdeviceavailableinallRouterBOARDPowerPCwhichcanrebootthe
systeminanycase.

PingWatchdog Enable/Disablethefunctiontoaccess
IPAddress1 EntertheIPaddresstobepinged.
PingFrequency SetthenumberofsecondstobePinged.
FailedTries Enterthenumberofpermittedtimesforthepingtobefailedbeforepowerreboot.
Forexample"2"meanstheCPEwillreconnectifthePINGdoesn'trespondfor
120Seconds.
Action IftheremoteIPaddressdoesnotrespondtoPingthedevicewillpowerreboot.
Save Itsav esthechangedsettings.
WhenyousetthePingFrequencytoevery"120"secondsandFailTriesto"2".ItmeanstheUser
willpingevery120seconds,afte rthesecondfailure,itwillreconnect.
