RTS/CTSThreshold Determinesthepacketsizeofatransmissionand,throughtheuseofanAP,
helpscontroltrafficflow.Therangeis0‐2347bytes.
BeaconInterval BeaconsarethepacketssendingbyAccesspointtosynchronizethewireless
network.Thebeaconintervalisthetimeintervalbetweenbeaconssendingby
thisunitinAPorAP+WDSoperation.Thedefaultandrecommendedbeacon
intervalis100milliseconds.
DTIM(DeliveryTraffic
IndicationMap)
ThisistheDeliveryTrafficIndicationMap.Itisusedtoalerttheclientsthat
multicastandbroadcastpacketsbufferedattheAPwillbetransmitted
immediatelyafterthetransmissionofthisbeaconframe.Youcanchangethe
valuefrom1to255.TheAPwill
checkthebuffereddataaccordingtothis
value.Forexample,selecting“1”meanstocheckthebuffereddataatevery
beacon.
FragmentSize Alargedataframeisfragmentedintoseveralfragmentseachofsizeequalto
fragmentthreshold.Bytuningthefragmentthresholdvalue,wecanget
varyingfragmentsizes.
ShortGI(GuardInterval) AGIisaperiodoftimebetweensymboltransmissionthatallowsreflections
(frommultipath)fromthepreviousdatatransmissiontosettlebefore
transmittinganewsymbol.The802.11ndraftspecifiestwoguardintervals:
400ns(short)and800ns(long).Supportofthe400nsGIisoptionalfor
transmit
andreceive.Thepurposeofaguardintervalistointroduceimmunityto
propagationdelays,echoes,andreflectionstowhichdigitaldataisnormally
verysensitive.
