and are provided with an automatic amperometric resetting protection
(secondary) and fuse (primary) inside the machine.
♦ Model Load 77007 has amperometric protection for the rectifier and a
protective device for the transformer. The starter has a fuse.
8.0 TROUBLE SHOOTING
If, once all the connections have been completed following the above instructions,
the thermal protection is tripped and the ampmeter reaches the bottom of the
scale, the causes can be traced to:
• reversal of polarity in connecting the pliers to the battery:
eliminate the problem
by resetting the thermal protection by pushing the proper push-button for the
manual one or wait a few minutes for the automatic one.
• casual or indirect contact between the charging pliers:
eliminate the contact,
reset the thermal protection manually or wait a few minutes for the automatic
one.
• battery completely discharged and at a higher capacity than the power of the
battery charger: if the absorption of the battery is excessive, it is advisable to
have the battery re-charged by a motor vehicle electrician and later maintain it
at a high charging level with the frequent use of the battery charger or to get a
more powerful battery charger.
• battery with inner elements in short circuit:
it is necessary to replace the
battery.
For other types of inconveniences call your local dealer or a qualified technical
engineer.
9.0 FIRST START UP MODELS WITHOUT STARTER
(77001-77002-77004-77006)
After following all the above instructions proceed as follows:
1. Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the nominal one of the battery
charger indicated on the plate.
2. Disconnect the cables connected to the positive pole (+) of the battery.
3. Untie the caps of the battery and check the level of the electrolytic liquid.
4. Connect in sequence:
- the red clamp to the positive pole (+)
- the black clamp to the frame of the car, away from the battery and from the
fuel pipe.
5. Find out the voltage of the battery to be charged (12 or 24 V) and position the
proper commutator of the battery charger on the same value.
6. Start the battery charger, check the position which the indicator of the
ampmeter will acquire.
7. Adjust the charging current with the proper commutator (MIN-BOOST).
