Use And Care Manual

To pump using a garden hose in the inlet port:
(see Figure 2)
1. White tubing with a black adapter installed on one end has been
placed inside the green hose to protect both the hose and the tubing
from kinking. Remove the white tube from the hose, being careful to
not remove the adapter attached to the end of the tube. This tubing
will not be used if using the garden hose on the inlet port.
2. Ensure the drill is turned o and unplugged.
s
!
WARNING
Follow safety precautions recommended by the drill manufacture.
3. To ensure optimum priming and long life, it is recommended that
a few drops of mineral or cooking oil be placed in the pump inlet
(marked “IN”) prior to use.
4. Inspect the washer inside the hose and ensure it is intact and attached
to the garden hose. Do not use the garden hose if the washer is
missing, broken or worn.
5. Attach the garden hose, included, to the inlet port (marked “IN”).
s
!
NOTICE
Do not add garden hose to the inlet port (marked “IN”) longer than 32".
6. Be sure the inlet line is airtight.
7. When pumping abrasive fluids or liquids containing solids, longer
pump life will be obtained by using a screen or strainer on the inlet line.
8. Place the inlet garden hose (attach to the port marked “IN”) into the
source of liquid to be moved.
9. Attach a second garden hose (not included) to the discharge port
(marked “OUT”) and direct it to where the liquid is to be relocated.
The discharge hose can be any length.
10. Attach the pump to the drill following the manufacturer’s
instructions for the drill.
11. Hold both drill and pump securely to prevent rotation.
12. If applicable, plug the drill directly into an electrical outlet. To reduce
risk of electric shock, be certain that it is connected only to a properly
grounded grounding-type receptacle. A ground fault circuit interrupter
(GFCI) is required.
13. Ensure the drill is set to the FORWARD (clockwise) position and turn on
the drill. Run the drill at full speed.
14. If pump fails to prime in 15–20 seconds, check that inlet line is airtight,
and not kinked or clogged.
s
!
NOTICE Drills are not designed to be operated
continuously and should not be operated unattended.
To do so can result in failure of the drill and/or pump.
15. Stop the drill as soon as the pump stops pumping liquid. Do not let
the unit run dry (without liquid). The pump depends on fluid being
pumped for lubrication. It is designed to be cooled by pumping fluid.
16. To prolong pump life, flush with clear water after use.
MAINTENANCE
1. It is recommended that a few drops of mineral or cooking oil be placed
in pump inlet (marked “IN”) prior to use.
2. To prolong pump life, flush with clear water after use.
3. Do not let the unit freeze in the wintertime. Freezing may cause
cracking or distortion that may destroy the unit
