LED Security Light with Motion Detector
HOW DOES THE MOTION DETECTOR WORK?
The Motion Detectors infrared sensor “sees” small temperature
changes caused by the motion of people or cars within its detection
zone and turns on lights automatically. Large animals or a strong
infrared source such as vehicle headlights or sunlight refl ecting off
a window can also trigger the sensor.
HOW LONG DO THE LIGHTS STAY ON?
Lights remain on as long as there is movement within the detection
zone. Once the zone is vacated lights can be adjusted to remain on
for approximately 1 to 10 minutes.
WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE DETECTION ZONE?
Sensors can detect motion up to 70’ away and has a 180 degree
detection range. As the distance from the sensor increases, larger
movement will be required for detection. For example at 10 ft a
single step across the detection pattern may be enough to trigger
the light, while at 50 ft several steps may be necessary for detection.
CAN THE LIGHTS STILL BE TURNED ON/OFF
WITH A LIGHT SWITCH?
At night Lights can be turned on or off manually with a wall switch
or circuit breaker in the Manual Override Mode.
Sensors function best when the direction of expected movement is
across its detection pattern, not towards the sensor. Mount 6-10 ft
high for optimum range and detection. As distance from the sensor
increases, it will take more movement to be detected. The standard
detection pattern extends 70 feet and is 180 degree wide.
