4. Disconnect the electrical connector on
the back of the front cover. The front oor
console front cover can now be removed
and set aside.
5. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the
four (4) shift boot mounting screws. The
shift boot can now be removed.
6. Flip the shift boot inside-out. You will see
a zip-tie that holds the shift boot to the
chrome collar. Using a knife or equivalent,
remove the zip-tie, taking special care not to
damage the shift boot.
7. After ipping the shift boot back to it’s
normal orientation, work the LPE shift boot
collar into the shift boot as shown in the
adjacent picture. The tapered end of the
new collar should be pointing up.
