Installation of the LPE boot adapter kit on a 2010-2013 Camaro SS with the LPE Momo shift knob 1. Before beginning installation, make sure to apply the emergency brake. 2. Gripping the shift knob above the chrome collar with both hands, pull upward to remove the shift knob. 3. Using a small flathead screwdriver, plastic pry tool, or your fingers, gently pry up on the end of the front floor console front cover.
. Disconnect the electrical connector on the back of the front cover. The front floor console front cover can now be removed and set aside. 5. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the four (4) shift boot mounting screws. The shift boot can now be removed. 6. Flip the shift boot inside-out. You will see a zip-tie that holds the shift boot to the chrome collar. Using a knife or equivalent, remove the zip-tie, taking special care not to damage the shift boot. 7.
8. Flip the shift boot inside out to expose the bottom of the new shift boot collar. Place the opening on the shift boot into the groove cut into the collar. Use the included zip-tie to secure the shift boot to the shift collar. You will want to get the zip-tie as tight as possible. Once the zip-tie is sufficiently tightened, snip off the excess length of ziptie, taking care not to leave a sharp edge on the zip-tie that could damage the boot.
12. Verify that the shift knob is properly aligned. Then, applying constant downward pressure on the shift knob, tighten the three (3) 5mm set screws in a uniform manner to secure and center the shift knob onto the gear lever. NOTE: Make sure to maintain the proper shift knob alignment as you are tightening the set screws. 13. Screw the LPE shift knob boot adapter onto the shift knob.
16. Reinstall the front floor console front cover by placing the end with the gauges in first. As you lower the other end of the front cover into place, gently press down on the front cover to re-engage the retainer tabs. Installation of the LPE shift knob kit and the LPE shift knob boot adapter kit is now complete.
