How to select hardware for POD Farm 2 to use
The POD Farm 2 software was designed for the new POD Studio line of Line 6 USB audio interfaces.
However, POD Farm 2 can also be used with any TonePort or GuitarPort device as well. Further, a
POD Farm 2 Plug-In license can be purchased as an “Add-On” and authorized on POD X3 and PODxt
devices, as well as iLok USB key devices. Please see “Product Activation & Authorization” on page 1•3 if
you need some help with obtaining a POD Farm 2 license and activating it on your hardware.
When you insert POD Farm 2 or Elements Plug-In in your DAW host software, or when you launch
POD Farm 2 in standalone mode, these products automatically look for an authorized Line 6 USB
device or iLok connected to your computer. If an authorized device is not detected, the Plug-In or
application will launch, but in a limited state, where it cannot process audio.
POD Farm 2 & Elements Plug-Ins: Upon initial launch of the POD Farm 2 Plug-In window, if no
authorized device is detected, you’ll see this alert (a similar alert is displayed on initial launch of an
Elements Plug-In as well):
POD Farm 2 in standalone operation: Upon initial launch of the POD Farm 2 standalone application,
if no authorized device is detected, you’ll see the following dialog. This allows you to still launch the
application in its “limited” mode. You can select the type of Line 6 device to emulate from the menu.
Note that you can still click around in the POD Farm 2 application, load and edit Tone presets, look
through the menus & panels, etc., which can sometimes be useful if you just want to reference your
Tones or model settings.
TIP: To check the device and authorization status of your POD Farm 2 Plug-Ins or software at any
time, click on the Line 6 logo at the top of the main window and reference the device and Add-ons
info in the About box.
