Essential Information FUEL TANK CAPACITY/FUEL RECOMMENDATIONS: Your Aviator’s fuel tank can accommodate 22.5 gallons of fuel. Your vehicle is designed to use “Premium” unleaded fuel with an (R+M)/2 octane rating of 91 or higher for optimum performance. The use of fuel with lower octane ratings may degrade performance. FUSES: If electrical components in your vehicle stop working, a fuse may have blown. (You’ll notice a broken wire within the fuse.
Additional Features Heated and Cooled Seats (if equipped) The controls are located on the front door trim panels. To cool the seats, push the icon on the right side of the button; a blue light will illuminate. Push again to disengage. To heat the seats, push the icon on the left side of the button; a red light will illuminate. Push again to disengage. To adjust the heating or cooling levels, rotate the thumbwheel from 1 (MIN) to 5 (MAX). Allow five minutes for the temperature to stabilize.

The system will automatically determine fan speed, airflow location and whether outside or recirculated air is required. the selected temperature. To adjust fan speed manually, press the up arrow to increase the speed; press the down arrow to decrease the speed. To return to automatic fan operation, press AUTO.

This Quick Reference Guide was designed to acquaint you with many of the features you’ll use most. Take a few minutes to use this Quick Reference Guide with the accompanying CD-ROM.
Message Center Your Message Center is located on your instrument cluster. With the ignition in the ON position, it displays important vehicle information while constantly monitoring vehicle systems. The Message Center will also notify you of potential vehicle problems by displaying system warnings followed by a long indicator chime.

2 Headlamps Rotate the headlamp control clockwise to the second position to turn on the headlamps. Pull the headlamp control towards you to turn on the foglamps. Must be in autolamp mode, parklamp position or headlamp position for foglamps to operate. Rotate the control counterclockwise to initiate the autolamps. (This lightsensitive system turns your exterior lamps on and off automatically. It also keeps the lights on for approximately 20 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position.
8 Turn Signal/Wiper Washer Controls For a single swipe with no wash, tap the end of the stalk briefly. The bars of varying length are for intermittent wiper operation. When in this position, rotate the control upward for fast intervals and downward for slow intervals. For three swipes with wash, push and hold the end of the stalk. For a longer wash, push and hold the end of the stalk. The wipers and washer fluid will be activated for up to ten seconds.
