The lights in the series are purpose designed for firearm mounting and are protected from recoil shock. They are not simple torches that have been adapted to fit onto a rifle: they are professional, purpose designed lights.
The PRED6X and the PRED9X are the newest editions to the Lightforce sporting light family. They are very light and compact, a fact that won’t be lost on you when you mount it to your firearm and begin the hunt. The PRED9X is the world’s first purpose designed, purpose built firearm mounted light and the technology and innovation which has gone into it sets it apart from every other light on the market. No other light delivers a beam as powerful and tight as the PRED9X.
Because LED has a low current draw, a smaller power source such as on board rechargeable batteries can be used to power the light. This means no wires and long battery life of up to 2 hours continuous use! The PRED9X and PRED6X are good lights for medium range hunting or hunting on foot. Their lightweight build and compact size mean they fit snugly to the rifle, keep the rifle balanced and won’t create too much extra weight for you to carry.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS For first use, remove protective insulating film from the batteries. Remove the thumb screw caps on the PRED9X and insert batteries observing the correct polarity that is marked on the unit. Insert the battery with the correct terminal pointing toward the polarity marked on the PRED9X. Replace the thumb screw caps. NOTE The thumb screw caps are double sprung to withstand the recoil energy from large calibre rifles and the cap is under tension.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (cont.) Operate the light using the push button switch on the rear of the PRED9X. The switch is a momentary push button that toggles the operating mode: HIGH/LOW/OFF (standby) • • • HIGH provides maximum light output LOW prolongs the operating duration to give up to 7 hours of useable light OFF switches the unit to standby unit ready to be switched on by the RF unit or the on board button with a single momentary press.
HOW TO ENTER SLEEP MODE: Press and hold the momentary push button for three seconds until the LED flashes. In this state momentary press operation of the switch has no effect and the RF fob controller will not operate. HOW TO RESTORE NORMAL OPERATION: Press and hold the momentary push button for three seconds until the LED flashes again. Normal operation is restored and the PRED9X will respond to momentary button presses again. The RF fob controller will operate.
RF WIRELESS OPERATION When in normal operation mode, the RF fob will operate the PRED9X over a distance of approximately five metres and will switch between HIGH and OFF (standby) modes only. LOW mode or storage mode cannot be activated from the RF fob: the rear mounted momentary push-button is the only way to enter these special modes. The fob is supplied with a Velcro strap to facilitate attachment to a rifle fore stock for convenient single handed operation.
WARNING MODES A red LED indicator is located in the centre of the push button switch and will activate to indicate the following modes: LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE WARNING. Low battery voltage is indicated with a short flash every three (3) seconds. HIGH TEMPERATURE WARNING. The LED will flash rapidly (twice a second) if the unit exceeds safe operating temperature. In this state the unit will automatically switch to LOW power to reduce the core temperature.
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT EXTRA RF CONTROLLERS These can be added to control the PRED9X. A maximum of twenty (20) RF fobs can be paired with a light. To pair a RF fob for the first time: 1. Turn the PRED9X LED on to HIGH or LOW mode. 2. Press and HOLD the momentary switch for 15-18 seconds until the LED switches OFF. The indicator LED in the centre of the switch will shine RED to indicate that the light is in learn mode and is ready to be paired with another RF fob. 3.
EXTERNAL POWER PACK The PRED9X can be powered from an external power source via the rear power input socket. Currently Lightforce do not offer a matching external power pack nor is the input plug supplied. FILTERS Optional red and green filters are supplied with the PRED9X kits. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS For first use, remove protective insulating film from the batteries. Insert one battery into the flashlight with the positive terminal facing forward. Replace the end cap. Fit the lanyard to be able to conveniently handle the PRED6X as a handheld flashlight. Operate the light using the push button switch on the rear of the PRED6X. For firearm mounted use, the standard end cap can be replaced with the remote tail switch.

CHARGING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PRED9X AND PRED6X To charge the batteries they must first be removed from the light. A spare set of batteries is supplied in the kit so the unit is always ready for action. To recharge the batteries, insert them into the Li-Ion charger observing the correct polarity marked on the charger face. The Li-Ion charger has two channels: a separate LED indicator shows the mode of each channel. The charger can charge one or two batteries simultaneously.
