Method 2: Wall-Mount Charger with Cable Tensioner (
best for single)
In this option, a single charger is mounted to the wall, and above it, an optional single cable tensioner is mounted.
(Part # EVC-L2-ACC-CMT). A J1772 plug holster which comes with the charger standard is also bolted to the wall. In total 3
separate components will be bolted separately to the wall: (1) the charger, (2) the cable tensioner and (3) the J1772 holster. If
conduit is being brought to the charger from above, and each parking spot will have a separate electrical drop, this can be a
low-cost way to wall-mount a charger and have true cable management via the cable tensioner. Since there is no wiring cabinet
(such as exists in the pedestal), this option is not recommended for dual charger installs where the installer desires to do a single
electrical drop for 2 chargers. This installation option will be easiest for single charger drops. If the garage floor is not level or if
there are pipes on the wall, this will be a great installation method since the installer can choose where the 3 separate
components are mounted thus avoiding obstacles. This is slightly more expensive than Methods 3 & 4 but will be a significant
material cost savings over Method 1.
