WHAT ARE LifeTiles

LifeTiles

is a unique textile composite ooring with specic installation techniques. While it may appear

similar to carpet tile, special attention is required when installing LifeTiles

IMPORTANT NOTE

Inspect modules prior to installation. No claims will be honored if modules are installed with visible

defects. Read all instructions prior to beginning installation.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

• When using a sharp knife, always cut away from yourself. Cut resistant gloves are recommended.

• Each LifeTile includes a removable plastic backing. Promptly dispose of removable plastic backing

to prevent slips and falls.

• Ensure children are not present during installation due to the presence of sharp objects.

WHERE TO INSTALL

LifeTiles

cannot be applied to any surface other than concrete. Any epoxy, paint, or other surface

coating must be removed prior to install. No surface condensation or standing water is allowed. Glossy

surfaces must be sanded for primer to stick. The space must be enclosed with exception of garage door

type openings. LifeTiles

is not approved for outdoor use. LifeTiles

must be stored indoors and can only

be installed in temperatures greater than 55 degrees. This temperature must be maintained for 48 hours

after installation. Floor heaters may be used to reach this temperature.

TOOLS & MATERIALS REQUIRED

• LifeTiles

Primer (sold separately)

• Rubber 9’ LifeTiles

Transition Strip & LifeTiles

Installation Tape (sold separately)

ADDITIONAL TOOLS & MATERIALS NEEDED

• Utility or carpet knife with additional sharp blades (Recommended: Stanley carpet knife #10-525)

• Shopvac or broom to clean oors

• Bucket or paint tray

• ⅜” nap or foam paint roller for Primer application

• Chalk line tool

• Measuring tape

• Right angle square

• Painters tape

• Laundry detergent and cloth (Optional, for treating oil stains)

• Concrete crack ller or cement-based patching compound for exterior use. Quikrete

concrete repair

is ideal for lling cracks in concrete. (Optional for uneven oors or cracked concrete.)

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1) PREP THE FLOORS • Vacuum or sweep floors thoroughly to remove debris, dust and dirt. • Remove oil based products, paint, existing adhesive and/or any other contaminants that may prevent LifeTiles® Primer from bonding with concrete prior to installation. All oil spots must be treated. For small oil stains, apply a small amount of clothing detergent. Scrub using a towel to remove oil. Rinse with tap water and dry.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Mark the middle of the back wall. Next, mark the middle of the front wall. Snap a chalk line between these points. This will be your center line. Draw your transition strip line. Snap a line across the front of your garage. Place this line between the outside of the metal framing and the inside of the door frame. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Place painters tape along outside of transition strip line. This protects your garage entrance during primer application. 3) FIND YOUR STARTING POINT Before plastic backing is removed, place tile 1” over painters tape. Mark the back of your tile. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Ensure this is square. 4 ) APPLY LIFETILES PRIMER Pour LifeTiles® Primer into bucket. Do not dilute. Apply to floor using 3/8” nap or foam roller from back to front of garage. Be sure to include under the transition strip. Do not puddle. Additional coats may be required upon visual inspection over extremely porous concrete. Allow primer to dry to the touch. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 5) INSTALL LIFETILES® LifeTiles® require a quarter turn installation method. See diagram below for sample of quarter turn. Note that there are helpful arrows on the back of each tile that will show the direction of how the tile should be laid. Start with your initial square, ensuring the lines follow the diagram above. The next group of tiles will be laid in a square surrounding the initial square. Always nestle a tile snuggly against the corner created by the neighboring tiles.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 7) TRANSITION STRIP LifeTiles® transition strip, sold separately, is vital to protect the edge of your product from vehicles driving in and out of your garage.The transition should be installed inside the garage door opening, not visible when the garage door is closed. Note: This is a requirement for full warranty involving exposed tile edges such as garage door openings. LifeTiles® installation tape should be placed over the LifeTiles® primer.

Installation Instructions • Remove the tape backing and line the transition strip next to the painters tape. • Tuck the tiles into the transition strip. Note that these tiles may require trimming.
