SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 5 ENGLISH • Do not locate multiple portable outlet sockets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance. • Securely plug the power plug in the outlet socket after completely removing any moisture and dust. • Never unplug the appliance from the power supply by pulling on the power cable. Always grip the power plug firmly and pull straight out from the outlet socket. • Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the builtin structure, clear of obstruction.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Risk of Fire and Flammable Materials • If a leak is detected, avoid any naked flames or potential sources of ignition and air the room in which the appliance is standing for several minutes. In order to avoid the creation of a flammable gas air mixture if a leak in the refrigerating circuit occurs, the size of the room in which the appliance is used should correspond to the amount of refrigerant used.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 7 Operation • Do not use the appliance for any purpose (storage of medical or experimental materials or shipping) other than any domestic household food storage use. • If water penetrates electrical parts of the appliance, disconnect power plug and contact an LG Electronics customer information centre. • Unplug the power plug during a severe thunderstorm or lightening or when not in use for a long period of time. • Do not touch the power plug or the appliance controls with wet hands.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS • Immediately unplug the power plug and contact an LG Electronics customer information centre if you detect a strange sound, odour, or smoke coming from the appliance. • Do not place hands or metallic objects inside the area emitting the cold air, cover or heat releasing grille on the back. • Do not apply excessive force or impact to the back cover of the appliance. • Be careful of nearby children when you open or close the appliance door.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 9 - If using an icemaker or dispenser water tank, make sure to fill it with potable water only. • When discarding the appliance, remove the door gasket while leaving the shelves and baskets in place and keep children away from the appliance.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS • Do not store an excessive amount of water bottles or containers for side dishes on the door baskets. • Do not open or close the appliance door with excessive force. • If the hinge of the appliance door is damaged or operates improperly, stop using the appliance and contact an authorized service centre. • Prevent animals from nibbling on the power cable or water hose. • Never eat frozen foods immediately after they have been taken out in the freezer compartment.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 11 CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT Disposal of Your Old Appliance ENGLISH • This crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicates that waste electrical and electronic products (WEEE) should be disposed of separately from the municipal waste stream. • Old electrical products can contain hazardous substances so correct disposal of your old appliance will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health.
INSTALLATION INSTALLATION Before Installation Dimensions and Clearances • Check the dimensions of the appliance and the installation path to ensure there is sufficient room to move the refrigerator through doors or narrow openings. • If an opening is too narrow to fit the refrigerator through, remove the refrigerator doors. See Removing/ Assembling Doors and Crispers in this manual.
INSTALLATION 13 Ambient Temperature • The internal temperatures could be affected by the location of the appliance, the ambient temperature, the frequency of door opening and so on. • The climate class can be found on the rating label. • Be careful when handling the hinge and hinge lever. • Remove food and bins before detaching the doors. • Do not hold the handle when removing or replacing the doors as the handle may come off.
INSTALLATION 2 Lift up the refrigerator door slightly and 2 remove it. Set the door aside on a nonscratching surface. Assembling the Refrigerator Door 1 Set the refrigerator door on the bottom hinge pin a. Place the middle hinge pin b inside the hinge pin sleeve c on the top of the refrigerator door. 3 Hold the door in place and line up the hinge with the holes in the refrigerator housing. 4 Use the two bolts and the screw to reattach the middle hinge bracket to the refrigerator housing.
INSTALLATION 15 WARNING 2 Using 10 mm or 3/8 inch socket wrench, remove the three bolts and lift off the top hinge b. Set parts aside. • Use two or more people to remove and install the refrigerator doors. ENGLISH • Disconnect the electrical supply to the refrigerator before installing. CAUTION • Be careful when handling the hinge and hinge lever. • Remove food and bins before detaching the doors. • Do not hold the handle when removing or replacing the doors as the handle may come off.
INSTALLATION 7 Reverse the hinge lever e by flipping it over. 2 Slightly lift the refrigerator door and remove it. 3 Loosen the 2 bolts and the Phillips head screw Place it on top of the bracket and tighten both down with the screw. 8 Set the freezer door to the side. and remove the middle hinge bracket from the refrigerator housing. Set the parts aside. Removing the Refrigerator Door 1 Using a 1/4 in. socket wrench, loosen and remove the middle hinge pin a from the middle hinge bracket b.

ENGLISH 6 Using a 3/8 in. socket wrench with a 2-inch extension, loosen the 2 bolts on the bottom hinge bracket. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw.

If the appliance seems unsteady, or the doors do not close easily, adjust the appliance’s tilt using the instructions below.
INSTALLATION 21 • Some timber flooring may cause levelling difficulties if it flexes excessively. Connecting the Appliance To turn on the appliance, connect the power plug into the outlet socket. Do not double up with other appliances on the same outlet. NOTE • After connecting the power supply cord (or plug) to the outlet, wait 3 or 4 hours before you put food into the appliance. If you add food before the appliance has cooled completely, your food may spoil.
OPERATION OPERATION Before Use Suggestion for Energy Saving Notes for Operation • For the most efficient use of energy, keep all inner parts (e.g. door bins, drawers and shelves) on their original location. • Before placing food in the appliance, clean the inside and outside of the appliance with warm water and a mild washing-up liquid to remove manufacturing residues. • Users should keep in mind that frost can form if the door is not closed completely or if the humidity is high during the summer.
OPERATION 23 • Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in the refrigerator, so that it is not in contact with or drip onto other food. • Avoid refreezing any food which has been completely thawed. Freezing any food which has been completely thawed again will lower its taste and nutrition. - Only take out the amount of food that you need. Consume thawed food quickly. It can only be refrozen after being cooked. • Cool hot food before storing.

Sets the freezer temperature. g LED Interior Lighting Lights up the inside of the refrigerator. h Refrigerator Temperature Control Sets the refrigerator temperature. i Refrigerator Shelf Adjust the refrigerator shelf to fit large or tall items. j Pantry Drawer*1 Stores wide items like cakes, deli platters or fruit trays.
OPERATION Control Panel The actual control panel may differ from model to model. Control Panel and Functions • Setting the controller at level 4-5 will maintain a low temperature in the freezer. a Temperature Adjust Press this button repeatedly to select a desired temperature between Cold and Coldest. • The default fridge temperature is b. • Keep the fridge temperature setting at b for 24 hours after initial installation. After 24 hours, set the desired temperature.
OPERATION 27 You can control the amount of humidity in the moisture-sealed crispers by adjusting the control to any setting between Vegetable and Fruit. • Fruit lets moist air out of the crisper for best storage of fruit. Removing/Assembling the Humidity Controlled Crispers 1 To remove, pull the crisper out to full extension, lift the front up, and pull straight out. 1 Remove the crisper drawers (as described above). 2 Reach in under the glass and lift up. 3 Gently push the glass up and out.
OPERATION Adjusting the shelves to fit items of different heights will make finding the exact item you want easier. 1 To remove the bin, simply lift the bin up and pull straight out. Detaching/Assembling Shelves CAUTION • Do not clean glass shelves with warm water while they are cold. Shelves may break if exposed to sudden temperature changes or impact. 1 To detach, lift the rear of the shelf and pull it out.
OPERATION 29 Dairy Bin 1 To remove the dairy bin, simply lift up and pull out. 2 To replace the dairy bin, slide it in above the desired support slots and push down until it stops.
MAINTENANCE MAINTENANCE Cleaning Cleaning the Interior General Cleaning Tips • Before removing a shelf or drawer from inside the appliance, remove all stored foods from the shelf or drawer to prevent injury or damage to the appliance. Otherwise, injury may occur due to the weight of stored foods. • Performing manual defrosting, maintenance or cleaning of the appliance while food is stored in the freezer can raise the temperature of the food and reduce its storage life.
TROUBLESHOOTING 31 TROUBLESHOOTING Before Calling for Service Symptoms There is no refrigeration or freezing. Possible Cause & Solution Is there a power interruption? • Check the power of other appliances. Appliance is unplugged. • Plug the power plug in the outlet properly. A fuse in your home may be blown or the circuit breaker tripped. Or the appliance is connected to a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet, and the outlet's circuit breaker has tripped.
TROUBLESHOOTING Symptoms The appliance contains a bad smell. Possible Cause & Solution Did you put in food with a strong smell? • Store foods with strong smells in a sealed containers. Vegetables or fruit may have spoiled in the drawer? • Throw away rotten vegetables and clean the vegetable drawer. Do not store vegetables too long in the vegetable drawer. Condensation & Frost Symptoms There is condensation inside the appliance or on the bottom of the vegetable drawer cover.
TROUBLESHOOTING 33 Symptoms Does the rear of the appliance touch the wall? • Adjust the installation position to allow enough clearance around the appliance. Are objects scattered behind the appliance? • Remove the scattered objects from behind the appliance. Is there an object on top of the appliance? • Remove the object on top of the appliance.
