The combination of indoor unit is to be decided that the sum of indoor unit capacity index must be
smaller than the maximum combination capacity of outdoor unit. We recommend to calculate indoor
unit capacity like below. If you do not follow our recommendation, it will have some problems in low
ambient condition i.e. some indoor unit will not be able to heat very well in heating mode.
CALCULATION METHOD FOR THE CONNECTABLE TOTAL CAPACITY OF INDOOR UNIT
To calculate the connected total indoor unit nominal capacity, simply sum up the nominal capacities
of all indoor units.
• For high static duct and vertical-horizontal air handling indoor units, a 1.3 multiplier must first be
applied before adding to the sum of other indoor units (when connected to an outdoor unit other
than the LMU600HV).
• When high static duct and / or vertical-horizontal air handling indoor units are the only connected
indoor units, the multiplier is 1.2.
Ex) 1. Outdoor unit : A8UW54GFA2(LMU541HV)(connectable maximum capacity is 73 kBtu)
Indoor unit:
AMNW24GM1A0[LHN248HV], AMNW36GM2A0[LHN368HV]
(24+36) x 1.2 = 60 x 1.2 = 72 kBtu : this combination is acceptable.
2. Out door unit: A8UW54GFA2(LMU541HV)(connectable maximum capacity is 73 kBtu)
Indoor unit:
AMNW24GM1A0[LHN248HV], AMNW24GM1A0[LHN248HV], AMNW07GDJB0[LMN079HVT]
[(24+24) x 1.3] + 7 = [48 x 1.3] + 7 = 69.4 kBtu : this combination is acceptable.
3. Outdoor unit : A8UW54GFA2(LMU541HV)(connectable maximum capacity is 73 kBtu)
Indoor unit:
AMNW36GM2A0[LHN368HV], AMNW36GM2A0[LHN368HV]
(36+36) x 1.2 = 72 x 1.2 = 86.4 kBtu : this combination is not acceptable
