About your printer Printer features Depending on the model, your printer comes with features that will help you manage and accomplish printing and imaging tasks: 5 Setting up the printer 1 Unpack the printer. • Wireless or Ethernet networking—Print and scan from anywhere in your home or office over a secure wireless or Ethernet network, as well as share the printer among multiple computers. • Intuitive touch screen—Use the full‑featured color touch screen for fast, easy access to all the printer menus.

Slide your finger along the ink cartridge until the cartridge clicks into place. 2 3 Installing ink cartridges 1 Remove the ink cartridge from the pack, and then remove the protective cap from the ink cartridge. If your ink cartridge comes with a twist cap, then remove the cap.
Ordering and replacing ink cartridges 16 If you aligned the cartridges to improve print quality, then print your document again. If print quality has not improved, then clean the printhead nozzles. Cleaning the printhead nozzles If you have not been using the printer for a long period, then you may need to clean the printhead nozzles to improve the quality of your prints. Keep your printer plugged to a properly grounded, working electrical outlet to allow it to perform automatic maintenance cycles.

The dialog lets you select options for the print job, such as the following: Software installed during printer installation When you set up the printer using the installation software CD, all the necessary software was installed. You may have chosen to install some additional programs.

Use this checklist to solve most printer problems: Wait for the installation dialog to appear. • Make sure the power cord is plugged into the printer and into a properly grounded, working electrical outlet.

Software did not install If you encountered problems while installing, or if your printer does not appear in the list in the printers folder or as a printer option when sending a print job, then try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. SELECT YOUR PRINTER FROM THE PRINT DIALOG BEFORE SENDING THE PRINT JOB Before you reinstall the software, do the following: Note: This solution applies to Macintosh users only.
Troubleshooting 32 REMOVE AND REINSTALL THE PRINTER SOFTWARE Note: Make sure the printer is not in Sleep mode. Press and hold the printer. 2 Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, and then pull out the power cord from the power Printer is printing blank pages supply. Blank pages may be caused by improperly installed ink cartridges. 3 After one minute, reconnect the power cord into the power supply, and then plug the power cord into the wall outlet.

The command window opens. 2 Type ipconfig, and then press Enter.
Troubleshooting 36 If you see this message again after you have waited long enough for the printer and the laptop to connect to the network, then there may be a problem with your wireless network. • Make sure your access point (wireless router) is turned on and is working. • Remove any objects that could be blocking the signal.
