It is strongly advised to remove the Leupold Digital Camera Adapter and
digital camera from the spotting scope when they are not in use. This
includes when they are being transported from one location to another.
Sight the object you wish of which you wish to capture a digital image
through the spotting scope first then attach the digital camera and Leupold
Digital Camera Adapter to the scope.
Many digital cameras are set with “autofocus” as their default focus
setting. In many cases, this is not a problem, If you cannot correct an
image as seen through the view screen of the digital camera by focusing
the spotting scope, try setting your camera’s focus setting to “manual.”
∑Disable your camera’s digital zoom (if it has one) feature while digiscoping.
Set your digital camera on 1x when first attaching it with the Leupold
Digital Camera Adapter to the spotting scope. If you notice vignetting (a
dark circle around the edge of the image as seen through the view screen
of the camera), increase the camera’s magnification setting until the
vignetting disappears. (Total elimination of vignetting is not possible with
