The input signal is differentiated by means of the parameterised rate time constant T

and added
to the input signal.
The differentiation of the input signal can be switched off by setting the rate time constant T

lower than the task cycle time. In this case the differential component is zero and the input sig-
nal is output unchanged to the output.
When the rate time constant T

is higher than the task cycle time, the following step response
