Usethevideographicsarray(VGA)connectortoconnectthecomputertoaVGA-compatiblevideodevice,

suchasaVGAmonitor.

Note:Ifyouconnectthecomputertoadockingstation,usetheVGAconnectoronthedockingstation,

nottheoneonthecomputer.

4Always-onUSB2.0connector

Bydefault,theAlways-onUSB2.0connectorenablesyoutochargesomemobiledigitaldevicesand

smartphoneswhenyourcomputerisinthefollowingsituation:

•Whenyourcomputerisonorinsleepmode

•Whenyourcomputerisinhibernationmodeoristurnedoff,butconnectedtoacpower

Ifyouwanttochargethesedeviceswhenyourcomputerisinhibernationmode;orwhenyourcomputeris

turnedoffandnotconnectedtoacpower,dothefollowing:

•ForWindows7:StartthePowerManagerprogramandclicktheGlobalPowerSettingstab.Then

selecttheEnableUSBchargefromthecomputerbatteryevenwhenthecomputerisoffcheck

box,andclickOKorApply.

•ForWindows8andWindows8.1:PresstheWindowskeytogototheStartscreen.ClickLenovo

Settings➙Power.ThenselecttheEnableUSBchargefromthecomputerbatteryevenwhenthe

computerisoffcheckboxunderAlways-onUSB.

Attention:WhenyouattachaUSBcabletothisconnector,ensurethattheUSBmarkisfacingupward.

Otherwisetheconnectormightbedamaged.

5USB3.0connector

TheUSB3.0connectorisusedforconnectingUSB-compatibledevices,suchasaUSBprinteroradigital

camera.

Attention:WhenyouattachaUSBcabletothisUSBconnector,ensurethattheUSBmarkisfacingupward.

Otherwisetheconnectormightbedamaged.

6ExpressCardslot(onsomemodels)

7Mediacardslot

Insertyourﬂashmediacardintothisslottoreadthedataonthecard.Formoreinformationaboutthe

8Audioconnector

Connectheadphonesoraheadsetthathasa3.5-mm(0.14-inch)4-poleplugtotheaudioconnectorto

listentothesoundfromthecomputer.

Notes:

•Ifyouareusingaheadsetwithafunctionswitch,donotpressthisswitchwhileusingtheheadset.If

youpressit,theheadsetmicrophonewillbedisabled,andtheintegratedmicrophonesonthecomputer

willbeenabledinstead.
