recognized.
1.Ensurethat:
•Thesignalcableandconnectorarenotdamaged.
•Thenon-hot-swapharddiskdriveissecurely
connectedtothecorrectSATAconnectoronthe
systemboardandtheSATAconnectorisenabled
intheSetupUtilityprogram.See“UsingtheSetup
Utilityprogram”onpage47
.
•Allcablesandjumpers(ifany)areinstalled
correctly.
2.Ifyouhaveanydiagnosticprograms,runthe
diagnosticprogramstotesttheharddiskdrive.
3.Reinstallthenon-hot-swapharddiskdriveand
reconnectcables.
4.Replacethesignalcableforthenon-hot-swaphard
diskdrive.
5.Replacethenon-hot-swapharddiskdrive.
Anewlyinstalledhot-swapharddiskdriveisnot
recognized.
1.Ensurethatthedriveisinstalledintothecorrectdrive
bay.
2.Restarttheserver.
3.Removethedrivefromthebay,wait45seconds,
andreinsertthedriveintothebay,makingsurethat
thedriveconnectstothehot-swaphard-disk-drive
backplane.
4.Ifyouhaveanydiagnosticprograms,runthe
diagnosticprogramstotesttheharddiskdrive.
5.Ensurethatthehot-swaphard-disk-drivebackplane
iscorrectlyseated.Whenitiscorrectlyseated,
thedriveassembliescorrectlyconnecttothe
backplanewithoutbowingorcausingmovementof
thebackplane.
6.Ensurethatthecableconnectioniscorrect.See

7.Reconnectthebackplanepowercableandrepeat
