Selectingastartupdevice
Ifyourcomputerdoesnotstartupfromadevicesuchasthediscorharddiskdriveasexpected,dooneof
thefollowingtoselectthestartupdeviceyouwant.
Selectingatemporarystartupdevice
Usethisproceduretoselectatemporarystartupdevice.
Note:Notalldiscsandharddiskdrivesarebootable.
1.Turnoffyourcomputer.
2.RepeatedlypressandreleasetheF12keywhenturningonthecomputer.Whenthe“Pleaseselect
bootdevice”windowopens,releasetheF12key.
3.SelectthedesiredstartupdeviceandpressEnter.Thecomputerwillstartupfromthedeviceyou
selected.
Note:Selectingastartupdevicefromthe“Pleaseselectbootdevice”windowdoesnotpermanently
changethestartupsequence.
Selectingorchangingthestartupdevicesequence
Tovieworpermanentlychangetheconguredstartupdevicesequence,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage83.
2.FromtheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu,selectStartup.
3.SelectthedevicesforthePrimaryStartupSequence,theAutomaticStartupSequence,andtheError
StartupSequence.Readtheinformationdisplayedontherightsideofthescreen.
4.PressF10tosavechangesandexittheSetupUtilityprogram.See“ExitingfromtheSetupUtility
program”onpage99

ExitingfromtheSetupUtilityprogram
Afteryounishviewingorchangingsettings,pressEsctoreturntotheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu.
YoumighthavetopressEscseveraltimes.Dooneofthefollowing:
•Ifyouwanttosavethenewsettings,pressF10tosaveandexittheSetupUtilityprogram.
•Ifyoudonotwanttosavethesettings,selectExit➙DiscardChangesandExit.
•Ifyouwanttoreturntothedefaultsettings,pressF9toloadthedefaultsettings.
ConguringRAID
