Windows7logon
TologontotheWindows7operatingsystem,youcanuseeithertheAuthenTecngerprintsensoror
theUPEKngerprintsensoratanytime.
1.InstalltheLenovoFingerprintSoftwareversion3.2.0.275orlater.
2.InstalltheThinkVantageFingerprintSoftwareversion5.8.2.4824orlater.
3.Restartthecomputer.Thengerprintenrollmentwizardautomaticallystarts.
4.UsetheThinkVantageFingerprintSoftwaretoenrollyourngerprintswiththeexternalngerprintsensor.
Ifitdoesnotautomaticallystart,clickStart➙Programs(orAllPrograms)➙ThinkVantage➙
ThinkVantageFingerprintSoftwaretostarttheenrollment.
5.EnteryourWindowspasswordwhenpromptedandthenselectangertoenroll.
6.Followthepromptsonthecomputerscreentoenrollyourngerusingtheexternalngerprintsensor.
7.ClickSettingsatthetopofthewindow.
8.SelecttheUsengerprintscaninsteadofpasswordwhenloggingintoWindowscheckbox,click
OK,andthenclickClosetoclosethewindow.
9.RestartthecomputerandensurethatyourngerprintcanbeusedtologontoWindowswiththe
externalngerprintsensor.
10.Usengerprintenrollmenttoenrollyourngerprintswiththeinternalngerprintsensor.Ifitdoesnot
automaticallystart,clickStart➙Programs(orAllPrograms)➙ThinkVantage➙LenovoFingerprint
Softwaretostarttheenrollment.
11.EnteryourWindowspasswordwhenpromptedandthenselectangertoenroll.
12.Followthepromptsonthecomputerscreentoenrollyourngerusingtheinternalngerprintsensor.
13.ClickSettingsatthetopofthewindow.
14.SelecttheUsengerprintscaninsteadofpasswordwhenloggingintoWindowscheckbox,click
OK,andthenclickClosetoclosethewindow.
15.RestartthecomputerandensurethatyourngerprintcanbeusedtologontoWindowswiththe
internalngerprintsensor.
ClientSecuritySolutionandPasswordManager
DifferentfromWindowslogon,authenticationrequestsfromClientSecuritySolutionandPasswordManager
onlyworkonthepreferredngerprintsensor.Forexample,whenangerprintkeyboardisconnected,its
ngerprintsensoristhepreferreddevice.Whenangerprintkeyboardisnotconnected,theThinkPad
internalngerprintsensoristhepreferreddevice.
