ThengerprintconsolemustberunfromtheLenovoFingerprintSoftwareinstallationfolder.Thebasic
syntaxisFPRCONSOLE[USER|SETTINGS].TheUSERorSETTINGScommandspecieswhatsetof
operationwillbeused.Thefullcommandis“fprconsoleuseraddTestUser”.Whenthecommandisnot
knownornotallparametersarespecied,theshortcommandlistisshowntogetherwiththeparameters.

Note:TheLenovoFingerprintSoftwarerequirestheterminalserviceonthesystem.Ifyouturnoffthe
terminalservice,someunexpectedresultsmightoccurintheLenovoFingerprintSoftware.
ThefollowingservicesareaddedtothesystemaftertheLenovoFingerprintSoftwareisinstalled:
•ATService.exe(onbydefault)
YoumustturnontheATService.exeservicetousethengerprintsystem.Thisservicemanagesrequests
fromapplicationsusingthengerprintsensor.
•DataTransferService(onbydefault)
WhenDataTransferServiceortheATService.exeserviceisabnormallyterminated,LenovoFingeprint
Softwarewillnotworkasexpected.
•ADMonitor.exe(offbydefault)
YoumustturnontheADMonitor.exeservicetosupportActiveDirectoryAdministration.Thisservice
monitorstheregistryforchangespropagateddownfromActiveDirectoryandreectsthechangeslocally.
