TheClientSecuritySolutionpassphraseisanoptionalfeatureofuserauthenticationthatwillprovide
enhancedsecuritytoClientSecuritySolutionapplications.TheClientSecuritySolutionpassphrasehasthe
followingrequirements:
•Beatleasteightcharacterslong
•Containatleastonedigit
•Bedifferentfromthelastthreepassphrases
•Containnomorethantworepeatingcharacters
•Notbeginwithadigit
•Notendwithadigit
•NotcontaintheuserID
•Notbechangedifthecurrentpassphraseislessthanthreedaysold
•Notcontainthreeormoreidenticalconsecutivecharactersasthecurrentpassphraseinanyposition
•NotbethesameastheWindowspassword
TheClientSecuritySolutionpassphraseisonlyknownbytheindividualuser.Theonlywaytorecoverfroma
forgottenClientSecuritySolutionpassphraseistoexecutetheClientSecuritySolutionpasswordrecovery
function.Iftheuserhasforgottentheanswerstohisorherrecoveryquestions,thenthereisnowayto
recoverthedataprotectedbytheClientSecuritySolutionpassphrase.
ClientSecuritypasswordrecovery
ThisoptionalfeatureallowsClientSecurityenrolleduserstorecoveraforgottenWindowspasswordor
ClientSecuritypassphrasebyansweringthreequestionscorrectly.Ifthisfeatureisenabled,youwillselect
threeanswerstotenpre-chosenquestions.IftheyouforgetyourWindowspasswordorClientSecurity
passphrase,youwillhavetheoptiontoanswerthesethreequestionstoresetyourpasswordorpassphrase.
Notes:
1.WhenusingtheClientSecuritypassphrase,ClientSecuritypasswordrecoveryistheonlyoptionfor
recoveringaforgottenpassphrase.Iftheyouforgettheanswertoyourthreequestions,youwillbe
forcedtoreruntheenrollmentwizardandloseallpreviousClientSecurityprotecteddata.
2.WhenusingClientSecuritytoprotecttheRescueandRecovery
®
PredesktopArea,thePassword
RecoveryoptionwillactuallydisplayyourClientSecuritypassphraseand/orWindowspassword.
PassphraseorpasswordisdisplayedbecausethePredesktopAreadoesnothavetheabilityto
automaticallyperformaWindowspasswordchange.Thepassphraseorpasswordisdisplayedwhen
awireless(non-networkattachedlocallycacheddomain)userperformsthisfunctionattheWindows
logon.
ClientSecurityPasswordManager
ClientSecurityPasswordManagerenablesyoutomanageeasy-to-forgetapplicationandwebsite
information,suchasuserIDs,passwords,andotherpersonalinformation.ClientSecurityPasswordManager
protectsyourpersonalinformationthroughClientSecuritySolutionsothataccesstoyourapplicationand
websitesremaintotallysecure.TheClientSecurityPasswordManagerprogramalsosavestimeandeffort
becauseyouonlyhavetorememberonepasswordorpassphrase,orprovideyourngerprint.
