•Ifyousetaresolutionhigherthantheresolutionyouareusingonthecomputermonitor,andusean

externalmonitorthatdoesnotsupportthatresolution,takeadvantageofthevirtualscreenfunction,

whichenablesyoutodisplayonlyapartofthehigh-resolutionscreenimageyourcomputerproduces.

YoucanseeotherpartsoftheimagebymovingthescreenwiththeTrackPointpointingdeviceoranother

pointingdevice.

•Iftheexternalmonitoryouareusingisoutdated,theresolutionandtherefreshratemightbelimited.

UsingtheMiniDisplayPortconnector

YourcomputerhasaMiniDisplayPortconnector,whichisadigitaldisplayinterfaceforconnectionto

variousexternaldevices,suchasCathodeRayTube(CRT)monitors,LCDmonitors,projectors,oreven

high-deﬁnitiontelevisions.Thiscompactconnectorenablesaplug-and-playsetupandsupportsadapters

thatcanplugintoDVI,videographicsarray(VGA),orHDMIconnectors.

TheMiniDisplayPortconnectorofyourcomputersupportsaudioaswellasvideostreaming.

Settingupapresentation

Todisplayinformationandmakepresentations,youcanconnectadataprojectortoyourcomputerthrough

theMiniDisplayPortconnectoronyourcomputerbyusingaLenovoMini-DisplayPorttoVGAAdapterCable.

http://www.lenovo.com/essentials

Note:Itmaytakeseveralsecondsbeforetheprojectordisplaystheimage.Ifyoudonotseeyourdesktop

displayedafter60seconds,tapthedisplay-modeicon

intheFunctionmodetoswitchbetweendifferent

displayoutputlocations.

Yourprojectormighthaveoneormoreaudio-inputconnectors.Toprojectsound,youneedtoattach

thecomboaudioconnectoronyourcomputertotheseconnectors,usinganaudiocable(commercially

available).

Usingdualdisplays

ThissectionintroducestheDuplicateandExtenddesktopfunctionsthatenableyoutodisplayoutputon

boththecomputerdisplayandanexternalmonitor.

UsingtheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction

WiththeDuplicatedesktopfunction,youcandisplaythesameoutputonboththecomputerdisplayand

anexternaldisplay.YoualsocandisplaydifferentdesktopimagesoneachmonitorwiththeExtend

desktopfunction.

YoucanusetheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunctionwithoutchanginganysettings.Ifthefunctiondoes

notwork,refertothefollowingtopiconhowtoenabletheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction.

EnablingtheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction

ToenabletheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction,dothefollowing:

1.Connecttheexternalmonitortoyourcomputer;andthenconnectthemonitortoanelectricaloutlet.

2.Turnontheexternalmonitor.

3.Tapthedisplay-modeiconintheFunctionmode,andthenselectDuplicateorExtend.

Tochangetheresolutionforeachmonitor,dothefollowing:

1.Right-clickanywhereonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.

2.ClicktheMonitor-1icon,whichisfortheprimarydisplay(thecomputerdisplaybydefault).
