Thischapterprovidesinformationabouthowtoprotecttheinformationstoredonyourtablet.

Protectingdataagainstviruses

YourtabletispreinstalledwithMcAfeeantivirusprogramstohelpyoutodetectandeliminateviruses.

McAfeeWaveSecureisamobilesecurityservicethatenablesyoutoprotectdata,safelyconnecttothe

Internet,andsecurelybrowseandshoptheWeb.Italsoensuresprivacyintheeventoftheftandenhances

thepossibilityofrecoveringyourtablet.

TouseMcAfeeWaveSecure,youhavetoregisterwithMcAfeerstbydoingthefollowing:

1.Touchtheapplicationsiconfromtheactionbar.

2.TouchtheMcAfeeWaveSecureicon.

3.FollowtheinstructionsonthescreentoregisterwithMcAfee.

Ifyouareusingyourtabletinanenterpriseenvironment,McAfeeEnterpriseMobilityManagementenables

yourcompany’sITpersonneltocontrolandcongureyourtablettoprovidesecureandeasyaccessto

corporatemobileapplications.

TodownloadMcAfeeEnterpriseMobilityManagement,touchtheapplicationsicon

fromtheaction

bartoopentheapplicationslibrary.TouchtheMcAfeeBusinessicon.ThentouchDownloadhere.For

instructionsonhowtouseit,consultyourITadministrator.

Lockingthetabletscreen

Toprotectyourtabletdataagainstunauthorizedaccess,lockthescreenandsetanunlockmodefor

unlockingthescreen.Thescreenunlockmodecanbeapersonalorcorporatepassword,aPIN,orapattern.

Afterascreenunlockmodeissetandthescreenislocked,thenexttimeyouturnonyourtabletorwakeup

thescreen,youmusttypethepasswordorthePIN,ordrawtheunlockpatterntounlockit.

Settingupthescreenunlockfunction

Toenablethescreenunlockfunctionandsetupapassword,PIN,orapatterntounlockthescreen,do

thefollowing:

1.FromthemainHomescreen,touchtheAndroidSettingsicononLenovoLaunchZone,ortouchthe

applicationsicon

fromtheactionbarandthentouchSettings.TheAndroidSettingsscreenopens.

2.TouchLocation&Security➙Congurelockscreentoopenalistofoptions.

3.Touchoneofthefollowingoptionstosetupthescreenunlockmode:

•Notsecured:Nopassword,PIN,orpatternisrequiredtounlockthescreen.

•Pattern:Apatternisauniquewayyousettounlockthescreenbyusingyourngertodrawa

pattern.Thersttimeyoutrytosetapattern,ashorttutorialaboutcreatinganunlockpatternis

displayedtoguideyouthroughtheprocessofsettingone.

•PIN:Typeaseriesofnumbers.

•Password:Typeaseriesofcharacters,numbers,oracombinationofboth.
