Thefollowingactionscoulddamagethengerprintreaderorcauseitnottoworkproperly:
•Scratchingthesurfaceofthereaderwithahard,pointedobject.
•Scrapingthesurfaceofthereaderwithyourngernailoranythinghard.
•Usingortouchingthereaderwithadirtynger.
Ifyounoticeanyofthefollowingconditions,gentlycleanthesurfaceofthereaderwithadry,soft,lint-free
cloth:
•Thesurfaceofthereaderisdirtyorstained.
•Thesurfaceofthereaderiswet.
•Thereaderoftenfailstoenrollorauthenticateyourngerprint.
Ifyourngerhasanyofthefollowingconditions,youmaynotbeabletoregisterorauthenticateit:
•Yourngeriswrinkled.
•Yourngerisrough,dry,orinjured.
•Yourngerisverydry.
•Yourngerisstainedwithdirt,mud,oroil.
•Thesurfaceofyourngerisverydifferentfromwhenyouenrolledyourngerprint.
•Yourngeriswet.
•Angerisusedthathasnotbeenenrolled.
Toimprovethesituation,trythefollowing:
•Cleanorwipeyourhandstoremoveanyexcessdirtormoisturefromthengers.
•Enrollanduseadifferentngerforauthentication.
•Ifyourhandsaretoodry,applylotiontothem.
