TheAdvancedCongurationhasthefollowingfunctions:
•Conguringthenameanddevicetypeofyourcomputer
•ConguringyourcomputersettingssothatremoteBluetooth-enableddevicescanndyourcomputer
•ConguringyourcomputersettingssothatyourcomputercanndremoteBluetooth-enableddevices
•Conguring,onyourcomputer,theBluetooth-enabledservicesprovidedforremotedevices
•ConguringtheservicesonremoteBluetooth-enableddevices
•DisplayinginformationaboutBluetoothhardware
Fordetails,refertothehelpforBluetooth.Toseethehelp,double-clickMyBluetoothPlaces,andclick
HelpandthenBluetoothhelp.Anotherwaytostartthehelpistoright-clickBluetoothCongurationinthe
systemtrayofthetaskbar,andclickAdvancedCongurationandthenHelp.
InstallingtheMicrosoftBluetoothsoftwareinWindowsXP
IfyouwanttousetheMicrosoftBluetoothsoftware,doasfollows:
FirstuninstalltheThinkPadBluetoothwithEnhancedDataRateSoftware.
1.TurnBluetoothpoweroff.
2.ClickStart➙ControlPanel.
3.ClickAddorRemovePrograms.
4.SelectThinkPadBluetoothwithEnhancedDataRateSoftware;thenclickChange/Removeto
uninstallthesoftware.
5.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
NextinstalltheMicrosoftBluetoothsoftware,asfollows:
1.TurnBluetoothpoweron.MicrosoftBluetoothsoftwareisloadedautomatically.
2.IftheFoundNewHardwareWizardwindowpopsup,dothefollowing:
a.SelectNo,notthistime,andthenclickNext.
b.SelectInstallfromalistorspeciclocation(Advanced);thenclickNext.
c.SelectSearchforthebestdriverinthoselocations.
d.SelectIncludethislocationinthesearch:,andtypeC:\SWTOOLS\Drivers\MSBTooth,orspecifythe
locationinwhichyouplacedtheextractedINFle.ThenclickNext.
3.ClickFinish.
InstallingThinkPadBluetoothwithEnhancedDataRateSoftwareinWindowsXP
IfyouareusingtheMicrosoftBluetoothsoftwareandwanttouseThinkPadBluetoothwithEnhancedData
RateSoftwareinstead,replacetheMicrosoftBluetoothsoftwarewithThinkPadBluetoothwithEnhanced
DataRateSoftwareasfollows:
1.PressF9toturntheBluetoothpoweron.
