5.Changethestartupsequenceofyourcomputer.FollowingtheinstructionsontheStartupmenuinthe

ThinkPadSetup,settheCD-ROMdrivetostartrst.

6.PressF10.

7.InserttheinstallationCDforWindowsXPintegratedwithServicePack2intotheCDorDVDdrive.After

theinstallationofWindowsXPSP2isnished,restartthecomputer.

8.CompletetheinstallationofWindowsXPServicePack2byfollowingOSinstallinginstructions.

9.InstallWindowsXPServicePack3.YoucaninstalltheWindowsXPServicePack3usingtheWindows

XPServicePack3InstallationCDordownloaditfromeitherMicrosoftDownloadCenterorMicrosoft

WindowsupdateWebsite.

10.RunIntelRapidStorageTechnologyDriver.Todothis,gotoC:\DRIVERS\WIN\IRST\PREPARE,and

double-clickinstall.cmd.

11.Turnthecomputeroffandthenonagain.

12.StarttheThinkPadSetupmenu.

13.SelectCong.

14.SelectSerialATA(SATA).

15.SelectAHCI.

16.StartWindowsXP.TheWelcometotheFoundNewHardwareWizardappears.

17.SelectNo,notthistime,andthenclickNext.

18.SelectInstallfromalistorspeciclocation(Advanced),andthenclickNext.

19.SelectSearchforthebestdriverintheselocations.ThenselectIncludethislocationinthesearch:,

specifythepath,C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IRST,andclickNext.TheCompletingtheFoundNewHardware

Wizardappears.

20.ClickFinish.
