toprovidepowertothesystemclock.Inaddition,manymobileproducts,
suchasnotebookcomputers,utilizearechargeablebatterypackto
providesystempowerwheninportablemode.Batteriessuppliedby
Lenovoforusewithyourproducthavebeentestedforcompatibilityand
shouldonlybereplacedwithapprovedparts.
ThissystemdoesnotsupportbatteriesthatarenotgenuineLenovo-made
orauthorized.Thesystemwillcontinuetoboot,butmaynotcharge
unauthorizedbatteries.Attention:Lenovohasnoresponsibilityfor
theperformanceorsafetyofunauthorizedbatteries,andprovidesno
warrantiesforfailuresordamagearisingoutoftheiruse.
Neverattempttoopenorserviceanybattery.Donotcrush,puncture,or
incineratebatteriesorshortcircuitthemetalcontacts.Donotexposethe
batterytowaterorotherliquids.Onlyrechargethebatterypackstrictly
accordingtoinstructionsincludedintheproductdocumentation.
Batteryabuseormishandlingcancausethebatterytooverheat,whichcan
causegassesorameto“vent”fromthebatterypackorcoincell.Ifyour
batteryisdamaged,orifyounoticeanydischargefromyourbatteryorthe
buildupofforeignmaterialsonthebatteryleads,stopusingthebattery
andobtainareplacementfromthebatterymanufacturer.
Batteriescandegradewhentheyareleftunusedforlongperiodsof
time.Forsomerechargeablebatteries(particularlyLithiumIonbatteries),
leavingabatteryunusedinadischargedstatecouldincreasetheriskofa
batteryshortcircuit,whichcouldshortenthelifeofthebatteryandcan
alsoposeasafetyhazard.DonotletrechargeableLithium-Ionbatteries
completelydischargeorstorethesebatteriesinadischargedstate.
