WindowsBitLockerDriveEncryption.

WindowsBitLockerDriveEncryptionisanintegralsecurityfeatureofsomeeditionsoftheWindows

operatingsystem.Itcanhelpyouprotecttheoperatingsystemanddatastoredonyourcomputer,even

ifyourcomputerislostorstolen.BitLockerworksbyencryptingalluserandsystemﬁles,includingthe

swapandhibernationﬁles.

BitLockerusesaTrustedPlatformModuletoprovideenhancedprotectionforyourdataandtoensureearly

bootcomponentintegrity.AcompatibleTPMisdeﬁnedasaV1.2TPM.

toprotectyourcomputeragainstsecurityattacksonmedia,NANDﬂash,ordevicecontrollersbyuseofa

hardwareencryptionchip.Fortheefﬁcientuseoftheencryptionfeature,setaharddiskpasswordforthe

internalstoragedevice.

Usingtheﬁngerprintreader

Dependingonthemodel,yourcomputermighthaveaﬁngerprintreader.Fingerprintauthenticationcan

replaceyourWindowspassword.Inthisway,youcanlogintoyourcomputersimplyandsecurely.To

enableﬁngerprintauthentication,enrollyourﬁngerprintsﬁrst.

Enrollingyourﬁngerprint

Itisrecommendedthatyouenrollmorethanoneﬁngerprintincaseofanyinjuriestoyourﬁngers.To

enrollyourﬁngerprints,dothefollowing:

•ForWindows7andWindows8.1

1.StarttheLenovoFingerprintManagerprogram.ForinstructionsonhowtostarttheLenovo

FingerprintManagerprogram,see“Lenovoprograms”onpage14.

2.EntertheWindowspasswordasrequired.

3.Clicktheiconfortheﬁngerthatyouwanttoenroll,andconstantlyswipeyourcorrespondingﬁnger

acrosstheﬁngerprintreaderuntiltheenrollmentcompletes.

4.ClickFinish.Yourﬁngerprintisenrolledsuccessfully.

1.OpentheStartmenuandthenclickSettings.IfSettingsisnotdisplayed,clickAllappstodisplayall

2.Followtheinstructionsonthescreenuntiltheenrollmentcompletes.
