Usingrecoverymedia
Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtouserecoverymediaondifferentoperatingsystems.
•Youcanuserecoverymediatorestorethecomputertothefactorydefaultsettingsonly.Youcanuse
recoverymediatoputthecomputerinanoperationalstateafterallothermethodsofrecoveryhavefailed.
Attention:Whenyouuserecoverymediatorestorethecomputertothefactorydefaultsettings,allthe
lescurrentlyontheharddiskdrivewillbedeletedandreplacedbythefactorydefaultsettings.
Touserecoverymedia,dothefollowing:
1.Dependingonthetypeofyourrecoverymedia,connectthebootmedium(memorykeyorotherUSB
storagedevice)tothecomputer,orinsertthebootdiscintotheopticaldrive.
2.RepeatedlypressandreleasetheF12keywhenturningonthecomputer.WhentheBootMenu
windowopens,releasetheF12key.
3.SelectthedesiredstartupdeviceandpressEnter.Therestoreprocessbegins.
4.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentocompletetheoperation.

Performingbackupandrecoveryoperations
TheOneKeyRecoveryProprogramenablesyoutobackupallyourharddiskdrivecontentsincludingthe
operatingsystem,datales,softwareprograms,andpersonalsettings.Youcandesignatewherethe
OneKeyRecoveryProprogramstoresthebackup:
•Inaprotectedareaofyourharddiskdrive
•Onthesecondaryharddiskdriveifasecondaryharddiskdriveisinstalledinyourcomputer
•OnanattachedexternalUSBharddiskdrive
•Onanetworkdrive
•Onrecordablediscs(arecordableopticaldriveisrequiredforthisoption)
Afteryouhavebackedupthecontentsontheharddiskdrive,youcanrestorethecompletecontentsofthe
harddiskdrive,restoreonlytheselectedles,orrestoreonlytheWindowsoperatingsystemandprograms.
Performingabackupoperation
ThissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoperformabackupoperationusingtheOneKeyRecovery
Proprogram.
1.FromtheWindowsdesktop,clickStart➙AllPrograms➙LenovoThinkVantageTools➙Enhanced
BackupandRestore.TheOneKeyRecoveryProprogramopens.
2.IntheOneKeyRecoveryPromainwindow,clicktheLaunchadvancedOneKeyRecoveryProarrow.
3.ClickBackupyourharddriveandselectbackupoperationoptions.Then,followtheinstructionson
thescreentocompletethebackupoperation.
